Enjoy some up-close experiences with wildlife on this stay at the restored cattle ranch, Hosteria del Socorro in the Ibera wetlands of north-eastern Argentina. The ranch and 70,000-acre reserve is a labour of love for conservation philanthropist Douglas Tomkins whose team has been working since 2001 to re-wild this landscape after unregulated hunting caused species decline. Today, guest can enjoy the many years of conservation effort in Argentina’s largest nature reserve that has seen the resurgence of caimans, otters, swamp deer, capybaras, howler monkeys and over 400 species of birds in the reserve. Look forward to a comfortable ranch stay, with a lovely pool, full-board service and many activities included with your stay – safe in the knowledge that all revenue from your stay is reinvested into Ibera’s conservation and restoration efforts. The lengthy journey to reach this incredible reserve and the wildlife you’ll see justified the effort to get here, we promise!
