    Days 2 & 3: Shamwari Game Reserve

Spend a few days exploring the reserve, looking for lion’s sun bathing on the rocks and hippos cooling off in the river. You’ll enjoy two game drives a day – venture out in the morning and your guide will help you look for lions emerging in the hazy morning air and white rhinos wiggling their ears to keep the flies away. Bayethe is a tented paradise where each of the twelve units have their own individual plunge pool, surrounded by rich vegetation with views over the bush. Each night you can dine outside under the dark sky sharing stories of the wildlife you have seen before heading to bed in the cosy tented rooms, listening for the distant roar of the lions.

    Day 4: Depart Port Elizabeth

After one final breakfast you’ll be driven back to Port Elizabeth in time for your onwards flight.

The climate is mild year round, however there are ‘seasons’ you may want consider when planning your trip along the Garden Route.  They tend to experience rainfall during the winter months (June to August) when it tends to be greener all round.  The rains come in with a cooler air, last maybe a day or two and are then usually followed by champagne days’ of crystal clear air, blue skies and brilliant colours!

The summer months (November to February) are usually warm or hot, and during December to January the surf is often at its best due to the south easterly winds.
