This 4-day trip from Uluru to Alice Springs takes you on a journey through the ‘Red Centre’ of Australia. Home to the most culturally significant landmark in the country and the hub of Aboriginal culture, Uluru is a ‘must-see’ for any visitor to Australia. Combine this Red Centre Australia experience with a trip to Darwin and the Northern Territory or tag it onto an east coast holiday for a perfect ‘culture & beach’ combination.    

This trip includes a 2-night group tour, comprising of a maximum of 24 people, you will travel by 4WD & minibus and sleep overnight in pop-up tents, there is also the option to spend overnight in a ‘swag’, exposed to the elements and sleeping by the light of the stars! Itinerary in brief:

  • 1 night Uluru
  • 1 night Kings Creek Station

Day 1: Arrive Uluru

Arrive in Uluru (Ayers Rock) at lunchtime today where you will be collected by the tour bus to embark on your Red Centre Safari. This afternoon you will visit the cultural centre and explore the base of Uluru on a guided interpretative walk. After watching the sunset over Uluru you will relax by the fire at the private campsite listening to stories under the stars.

You will be given the opportunity tonight to sleep in a ‘swag’; a portable sleeping unit often used by Australian bushman and a real way to connect with the outdoors!

Day 2: Ayers Rocks & Kata Tjuta to Kings Canyon

An early start this morning is rewarded as you watch the sunrise over Uluru, a truly iconic Australian experience. After breakfast visit Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) and explore the 36 domes, aptly named ‘many heads’ in Aboriginal. Afterwards take a walk through the ‘Valley of the Winds’, a chance to explore the rich red landscapes and outback wilderness. After lunch you will drive to a private campsite on Kings Creek Station; your home for the night, a working camel/cattle station - be sure to try the famous Kings Creek camel burgers!

Day 3: Kings Canyon to Alice Springs

This morning take a guided walk around the rim of Kings Canyon. Part of the Watarrka National Park, this ancient formation of tall red rock faces is an important conservation area and home to over 600 species of native plants and animals. You will get to visit the Lost City & Garden of Eden before heading back to Alice Springs for your final evening.    

Day 4: Depart Alice Springs

Depart at any time today, we have included a transfer to take you from your hotel to the airport to connect with your onward flight.        



This trip can operate year round, however, please note that it will be very hot in the Red Centre during December. The Red Centre has a semi-arid climate; between December and February, temperatures range between 20c and 35c and in winter temperatures range between 3c and 20c. Autumn is a good time to visit the Red Centre with warm days and cool nights.

The camping tour departs daily excluding the 1st January.
