Itinerary in brief:
- 3 nights Rio de Janeiro
- 4 nights Buzios
Day 1: Arrival in Rio de Janeiro
Upon arrival you will be met by your private driver and taken to your hotel for a 3 night stay at the famous Belmond Copacabana Palace hotel.
You can spend the rest of the day at leisure relaxing by the hotel’s pool or you might choose to soak in the sunshine in the world famous Copacabana beach, just in front of your hotel.
Day 2: Full Day tour to Corcovado and Sugar Loaf Mountain
Today after breakfast, we’ve arranged a guided tour to the statue of Christ the Redeemer (one of the new Seven Wonders of the World) followed by a visit to Sugarloaf Mountain. The iconic statue is one of the most recognised landmarks of any city and it is on top of the Corcovado Mountain, with the most amazing views over the city and its bay.
Next, take the cable up to the top of Sugarloaf, another iconic site of Rio de Janeiro. The first cable car takes you to the top of Urca Hill, which rises 215 metres above sea level and offers spectacular views of the entire bay and its surrounding islands. Here you will take the second cable car to the top of Sugarloaf which rises 395 metres above sea level and offers a 360 degrees view of the entire city including Botafogo and Copacabana beaches, Corcovado and Rio’s downtown.
During the tour you will also stop for a delicious BBQ lunch in Brazilian style.
Once dropped back at your hotel you will have the rest of the day and evening for you to spend at your own leisure.
Day 3: Day at leisure in Rio
Today the day is yours to explore Rio at your own pace.
Spot the beautiful people at Copacabana Beach, visit the famous Maracana Stadium, relax and indulge in one of Rio’s vibrant restaurants, shop or explore the historic neighbourhoods, colonial architecture, museums and natural sights.
For an authentic night out in Rio we recommend the bohemian Lapa neighbourhood where Caipirinha and Samba go hand in hand. Boasting a charming atmosphere, this is where thousands of people in Rio start their evening.
Day 4: Rio to Buzios
Today you will be picked up after breakfast by your driver and private vehicle and be transferred to the beach town of Buzios. The journey is around 3 hours, dependent on the busy traffic leaving Rio, but once you arrive and check in, you’ll have the rest of the day at leisure.
Days 5-7: Days at leisure in Buzios
These days are for you to enjoy as you wish. Today Buzios is a bustling town with plenty of restaurants, boutiques and bars that you can choose from. Or you may choose to explore the peninsula that offers more than 20 stunning beaches with powdery white sand and crystal clear blue waters. The area can be explored quite easily using local transportation or you can hop aboard a Schooner boat trip to take you off the beaten track bays and inlets.
Day 8: Depart Rio
This is your last day in Brazil. After breakfast you will be picked up plenty of time in advance for your transfer to Rio de Janeiro airport for your onward flight.
