    • 4 nights Miami Beach
    • 3 nights Key West

    Day 1: Arrive Miami

On arrival at Miami Airport, you’ll make your own way to Miami Beach, where you’ll check into your hotel for four nights.

    Days 2-4: Miami Beach

Spend a few days relaxing on this famous stretch of sand and swimming in the turquoise waves. If you’re in the market for retail therapy, Miami Beach has some of the best shopping in the country, housed in huge modern malls or tiny art deco buildings like The Webster, brimming with boutique designers and cafes. Take a wander through Wynwood, packed with galleries, clubs and street art, before finishing your day with a Cuban sandwich and a few mojitos in one of the beachfront bars.

Day 5: Drive to Key West

Today you’ll pick up your rental car, an upmarket convertible, and drive from Miami to Key West on the famous Overseas Highway. Roll down the roof and feel the wind in your hair as you cruise the 113 miles down through the Florida Keys – there’s nothing quite like it! Why not stop at Duck Key for a seafood lunch overlooking the ocean before continuing to Key West, where you’ll check into your hotel for three nights.

    Day 6: Key West

In Key West, life is sweet and easy, so slow your pace and soak up the atmosphere. This is a place of afternoon cocktails, colourful houses and the best seafood in the state. Why not stop into the Ernest Hemmingway Museum to see how the author enjoyed his time in Key West or hire and weave through the small sandy streets, finishing at the southernmost point of the USA – only 90 miles from Cuba! In the evening, we’ve included a catamaran cruise out on the ocean, where you’ll sip champagne and watch the sun tuck itself behind the horizon in a splash of pink and orange.

    Day 7: Depart Miami

Today is your final day in Florida, so you’ll drive back to Miami Airport and drop off your rental car in time to catch your onwards flight.

The idea of Florida brings to mind clear skies and sunny days. The Sunshine State is well known for its warm weather and cheery outlook. It’s handy to remember that the hurricane season lasts between June and November, although in practice this just means that sunny days are peppered with rainy downpours and strong winds from the Caribbean. If you are planning to visit Orlando, winter is an ideal time to travel, as the amusement parks are usually quiet, with kids at school. However, December doesn’t bring beach weather, so if you’re looking to relax on the sand, March to May is the best time of year to book a trip.
