Itinerary in brief:
- 3 nights Rio de Janeiro
- 4 nights Buzios
Day 1: Arrival in Rio
On arrival, you will be met by your private driver and driven to your hotel for a three-night stay at the famous Belmond Copacabana Palace hotel.
You can spend the rest of the day at leisure relaxing by the hotel’s pool, or you might choose to soak in the sunshine in the world famous Copacabana beach, just in front of your hotel.
Day 2: Full day tour: Corcovado & Sugar Loaf
Today, we’ve arranged a guided tour to the statue of Christ the Redeemer and a visit to Sugarloaf Mountain. Stood at the top of Corcovado Mountain, the statue of Christ is one of the most recognised landmarks in the world, and from his feet, you’ll have unrivalled views over the city and its bay.
Next, you’ll take the cable car up to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain, another icon. At the summit, you’ll have 360 degrees view of the entire city including Botafogo and Copacabana beaches, Corcovado and Rio’s downtown. During the tour, you will also stop for a delicious BBQ lunch in Brazilian style.
After the tour, you’ll be driven back to your hotel with the rest of the day and evening at your leisure.
Day 3: Rio
You have today to explore Rio at your own pace. Look out for the beautiful people at Copacabana Beach, visit the Maracana soccer stadium, indulge in one of Rio’s vibrant restaurants, or explore the historic neighbourhoods, colonial architecture, museums and natural sights.
For an authentic night out, we recommend the bohemian Lapa neighbourhood where Caipirinha and Samba go hand in hand and where thousands of Cariocas start their evening.
Day 4: Rio to Buzios
After breakfast, you’ll be collected for a private transfer to Buzios, further along, the coast. The journey is around 3 hours, and once you arrive, check in with the rest of the day at leisure.
Days 5-7: Buzios
Enjoy a few days of downtime on the beach. Buzios is a bustling town with plenty of restaurants, boutiques and bars. You could explore the peninsula which has more than 20 stunning, powdery-white beaches with crystal clear waters. It’s easy to explore by bus, or you can hop on board a Schooner o take you off the beaten track bays and inlets.
Day8: Depart Rio
After breakfast, you’ll be collected and driven to Rio de Janeiro airport for your onward flight.
