This luxury, seven day Argentina luxury holiday will introduce you Buenos Aires, with a stay in the city’s most iconic hotel, the Alvear Palace in the elegant Recoleta district. Enjoy a private city tour through Buenos Aires’s most famous and interesting sites as well as an evening meal and show at one of the most important Tango theatres in the capital.
Next, head out to the Pampas, the historic lands of the Gauchos - the native cowboys who still practise traditional ways passed down from generation to generation. Spend two nights in La Bamba de Areco, a luxury ‘estancia’ that was formerly a cattle farm. Today, it is steeped in history with an atmosphere of elegance you'll come to admire.
La Bamba de Areco dates back to 1830 and is one of the oldest colonial-style estancias in Argentina, with its roots in Gaucho history. Many outdoor activities are offered, and in the right season, you can watch polo games by the international polo team that bears its name. Although it is not a working Estancia, La Bamba de Areco is a luxurious Estancia experience that is proud to offer authentic gaucho traditions and focuses on service and gastronomy.

Today you will be met at arrivals in Buenos Aires’s airport and taken to the Alvear Palace hotel where your guide will help you through the check-in process. You may choose to relax at the hotel for the rest of the day, or we suggest going for a pleasant walk from the hotel’s central location to take in the first sights of this marvellous city.
This morning you will be picked up after breakfast to embark on a fascinating 4-hour tour of the elegant turn-of-the-century districts that earned Buenos Aires the nickname the ‘Paris of South America’.
From the charming cobbled alleys and colonial architecture of San Telmo, the picturesque district of La Boca, along to the Plaza de Mayo, dominated by the Casa Rosada (Government House), the Nación Bank, the Cathedral and original Parliament House, up the leafy Avenida de Mayo towards the imposing grandeur of the Palace of Congress and then on to finish at the historically fascinating Recoleta Cemetery, you will discover the facts, stories and anecdotes that make up the colourful tapestry of the history of Buenos Aires.
After the tour, you will be dropped back to your hotel and you will have the rest of the day for you to spend at your leisure. Maybe you will decide to go back to one of the fascinating sights you have visited in the morning to explore them at your own pace.
After a day at leisure, you will be picked up by a private car and taken to Esquina Carlos Gardel for a first-class meal, accompanied by some of the best Argentine wines and champagnes. This will be followed by a tango show which includes some of the best-loved songs, music and dances performed by skilled musicians and dancers. Esquina Carlos Gardel Tango show is a revival of tango’s sophistication, luxury and style of the Golden Decade of Buenos Aires. The sensuality underlying all choreographic patterns of this show combines in a rich tribute to tango. Private return transfers to your hotel are included.
Today is a full day at leisure for you to enjoy Buenos Aires at your own pace. This city is so beautiful and offers so many possibilities to entertain and enchant its visitors. On a sunny day, our favourite is to stroll around the Parque Tres de Febrero (popularly known as Bosques de Palermo) in the Palermo area of the city and finish at one of the many cafés and restaurants of this vibrant and bohemian barrio. If you feel like completing your tango experience in Buenos Aires, head after dinner to Salon Canning on Scalabrini in Palermo Soho for an off the beaten track milonga experience.
Today you will wave goodbye to the cosmopolitan and urban surroundings of Buenos to welcome life in the countryside of the Pampas outside of the capital.
You will be taken by private vehicle for the 2-hour journey to La Bamba de Areco. The rest of the day will be for you to enjoy at your leisure. The Estancia offers full board accommodation and plenty of outdoor activities that you may choose to take part in.
Full day at the Estancia to enjoy its facilities, gourmet meals and outdoor activities.
This morning after breakfast you will end your unforgettable stay in Argentina, and you will be transferred by private vehicle to Buenos Aires’s airport for your onward flight.
Buenos Aires and the Pampas can be visited all year round. Summer is from November to February and temperatures can reach highs of more than 30°C in the sunshine. We would recommend spring (September to November) as the best time to visit when the temperatures are a bit cooler and the weather dry with plenty of sunshine.
