Itinerary in brief:
- 3 nights in Buenos Aires
- 2 nights in Montevideo
- 3 nights in Punta del Este
Day 1: Arrive in Buenos Aires
On arrival at Buenos Aires airport, you will be met and taken to your hotel by private transfer, where you will check in for a 3-night stay.
Day 2: Half-day city tour
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel this morning, then you’ll take a guided tour of this elegant city. Meet the real-life Porteños in the charming La Boca and in upscale Recoleta districts. At the end of the tour, you will be dropped back at your hotel for an afternoon at leisure.
Day 3: Tango show with dinner
Today you have a free day to explore the city independently, so why not venture into San Telmo, the oldest neighbourhood in the city. This evening, you’ll get to witness some professional dance moves in a live tango show while enjoying a delicious 3-course meal. So that you can make the most of your evening, we’ve included return transfers to the tango venue.
Day 4: Ferry over to Montevideo, Uruguay
After breakfast, you’ll be collected by a private driver and taken to the port, so you can catch a ferry to Montevideo, Uruguay’s capital. The journey takes just over two hours and once you arrive on the other side, you will be met and taken to your hotel where you will check in for a 2-night stay in Montevideo.
Day 5: City tour by antique car
Today after breakfast, we’ve included a unique guided city tour! This morning, you’ll be guided by a local driver in a vintage car, with all of its original features and offers real nostalgic charm! Cruise through the streets of Montevideo and stop off to visit some of the grand buildings, the football stadium and Plaza Virgilio, from where you will have excellent views over the capital.
After your tour, you’ll be dropped back at your hotel and you’ll have the afternoon free to explore or relax.
Day 6: Punta del Este
You’ll move on from Montevideo today, so a private car will pick you up after breakfast and drive you to Punta del Este, which is just over two hours away. You will check into your hotel for a 3-night stay.
Days 7 & 8: Free Days
Punta del Este is Uruguay’s second city and one of South America’s most famous resort towns, so we’ve included two days here. You could spend your time relaxing on the sandy Mansa beach near your hotel or perhaps take advantage of some of the many activities on offer.
Visit the famous lighthouse and the Mano de Punta del Este sculpture. You could also visit Isla de Lobos, a small island which is home to a large sea lion colony. Between June and October, you can also go whale watching and spot southern right whales as they migrate to the Uruguayan shores. Speak to one of our consultants if you wish to add any of these tours.
Day 9: Depart Punta del Este
You’ll be collected from your hotel today and taken to the airport by private transfer to connect with your onward travel plans.
