This trip idea is a great way to experience some Brazil highlights if you’re short on time, by flying between the cities of Salvador and Rio and Iguazu Falls.

First, spend a couple of days enjoying the Afro-Brazilian culture and colonial heritage of Salvador with its pretty colonial centre, Pelourinho, before flying south to experience the impressive natural wonder of Iguazu Falls on the border between Brazil and Argentina.

Finally, you’ll fly up to Rio, a city that’s quite simply packed with iconic sights, from the hilltop Statue of Christ to the peak of Sugar Loaf Mountain. Grab a Caipirinha cocktail and get yourself down to the urban beaches in Copacabana or Ipanema and toast your whistle-stop trip!

This Brazil itinerary can be tailored to suit your requirements; please contact one of our consultants to start planning your dream trip.

On arrival at Salvador airport, you will be met and taken by private transfer to your hotel where you will check in for a 2-night stay.

Day 2: Walking tour of the city

A walking tour is the best way to visit the colourful and historical centre of Salvador - Pelourinho. Starting at the Municipal Square, you will have a beautiful view of the city including the Art Deco-style Lacerda Elevator that takes its passengers high above the city, as well as Saint Marcelo Fort in All Saints Bay, Rio Branco and Thome de Souza Palaces. You will continue your walk to the Terreiro de Jesus Square, where the magnificent Basilica Cathedral and the former School of Medicine are located, and also to the Cruzeiro of Saint Francis, a church famous for its baroque style and gold leafed interior. Walking through this colonial architectural treasure, you will appreciate the historical and African heritage of the city.

Day 3: Salvador to Foz do Iguacu

You will be collected from your hotel and taken by private transfer to the airport for your flight to Foz do Iguacu. On arrival, you will be met and driven by private transfer to your hotel where you will check in for a 2-night stay.

    Day 4: Brazilian falls tour

Today you will be picked up in the morning and taken on a guided tour of the Brazilian side of the falls.

As soon as you enter the National Park, you will be welcomed by a breath-taking view of the falls. You’ll have the opportunity to walk the trails to appreciate the landscapes and the different points over the thundering falls as the Brazilian side offers a wide-angle perspective and .panoramic views of the cascades.

Early in the afternoon, you will be driven back to your hotel, but we can also arrange a guided tour to the Argentinian side of the National Park – please ask for details.

Day 5: Foz do Iguacu to Rio de Janeiro

You will be collected from your hotel today and taken by private transfer to the airport for your flight to Rio de Janeiro. On arrival, you will be met and driven by private transfer to your hotel where you will check in for a 3-night stay.

    Day 6: Tour to Corcovado

This morning you will be picked for a guided tour to visit the most famous landmark in the city and see from above the natural beauty of Rio.

After a scenic drive along Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, you will arrive at the bottom of the Corcovado Hill to embark on a comfortable train ride that ascends the mountain to reach the statue of Christ the Redeemer, at 700m above sea level. Once at the top, you will be able to use the panoramic elevators or escalators to get to the foot of the statue to enjoy incredible, 360-degree views over Rio’s many peaks, bays and beaches – it’s a truly intriguing view.

    Day 7: Free Day

You have now a free day to explore Rio de Janeiro. We suggest making your way to another high viewpoint – by taking the cable car up to Sugar Loaf Mountain, for more spectacular views or soaking up the Brazilian sunshine on one of the world’s most famous urban beaches, Copacabana or Ipanema.

Day 8: Depart Rio de Janeiro

You will be collected from your hotel at any time today and taken by private transfer to the airport to connect with your onward travel plans.
