Board the elegant M/V Santa Cruz for a three day Argentina glacier cruise through the Patagonian Icefield – the largest outside of Antarctica! You’ll cruise on a ship specially designed to navigate Patagonia’s waters, offering a unique combination of comfort, fine dining and in-depth exploration of nature. In this white world, Los Glaciares National Park is the gateway to over 200 incredible glaciers, as well as native forest, lakes, mountains, ice fields and steppes. Visit some of Patagonia’s most famous glaciers, including the Perito Moreno glacier tour – to see its constantly advancing tip, as well as the opportunity to see the spectacle of ice rupturing from its front wall. For your comfort, we’ve included a stay in El Calafate at both ends of the cruise.

This Argentina itinerary can be tailored to suit your requirements; please contact one of our consultants to start planning your dream trip.

    • Visit Los Glaciares National Park with over 200 glaciers
    • Visit the Spegazzin, Upsala, Mayo and Negro glaciers

    Itinerary in brief:

    • 1 night in El Calafate
    • 2 nights on board the Santa Cruz
    • 1 night in El Calafate

Day 1: Arrive in El Calafate

Arrive in El Calafate where you will be picked up at the airport and driven to your hotel. In the afternoon we’ve included an introductory guided visit to the Glaciarium Museum followed by a drink in the chilly Glaciobar where everything you touch is made of ice!

    Day 2: Santa Cruz cruise

Today you’ll have breakfast at your hotel and morning at leisure. In the afternoon, you’ll be picked up at your hotel and taken to the private dock for the MV Santa Cruz, Bahia Tranquila, ready to set sail at about 6:30 pm. The Santa Cruz will sail towards Bahia Alemana, and have dinner on board.

Day 3: Santa Cruz cruise navigations

Today you’ll be able to enjoy a full day’s worth of exploration with a landing at Puesto de la Vacas and a guided walk. Next, you’ll sail towards the spectacular Spegazzini and Upsala glaciers. At an astounding 50km long and 10km wide, Upsala Glacier is the largest in the entire southern Patagonian ice field despite it suffering severe losses in recent years.

All of today’s meals are included and will be served in the restaurant.

    Day 4: Disembarkation

This morning you’ll disembark after breakfast and take a hike through the Andean forest with views over the Mayo and Negro glaciers. Back on board, the cruise will navigate through Canal de lost émpanos towards the popular and spectacular blue ice of the Perito Moreno Glacier. Unlike other glaciers, this one is constantly advancing and calving, so the sight is amazing!

You’ll have lunch on board and in the early afternoon, you’ll go on a landing and walk along the glacier’s northern footpaths in the National Park, including seeing the towering, front wall of the glacier as it terminates into the lake.

Back on board, the ship will continue to Paraje Punta Banderas where your cruise comes to an end; you’ll disembark, then you’ll be taken back to your hotel in El Calafate.

    Day 5: El Calafate

Breakfast at the hotel and you will catch a transfer to the airport for your onward flight.

This trip is seasonal as the cruise operates from mid-September to mid-April only.
