Today you will be met at either the airport or train station, and you will be driven to your lodge.
Set on the Peruvian shores of Lake Titicaca, Titilaka is a boutique, luxury Relais & Chateau lodge with 18 superb lake-facing rooms.
Your stay here is full-board and includes many of the activities on offer, from nearby activities to half day and full day excursions. Depending on the time of the day you arrive, you should be able to get straight into a lodge activity or excursion this afternoon.
Dinner is served tonight at the lodge, with cocktails served from 7 pm in the lounge, where you can look forward to contemporary Andean cuisine that focuses on local ingredients including lake trout. The emphasis is on nutritious, wholesome food fit for explorers, yet light enough for the high altitude.
Day 2: Life at Titilaka
Enjoy a delicious breakfast served anytime from dawn until noon, including local bread, cheese, fruits and eggs. Today you can opt for either a half-day or full-day tour, and enjoy afternoon tea served at the lodge before afternoon excursions.
The lodge offers a range of guided activities to introduce you to the Andean way of life on the lake. Visit a local market or discover more about the local subsistence farmers and their ancestral traditions, with a visit to the weavers of Taquile Island or the interesting Uros reed islands.
If wildlife is of interest, opt for a guided cycle ride, trek or reed rafting trip here you can get up close to native birds and seasonally, flamingos plus the Andean wildlife in each distinct ecosystem around the lake. Whatever your mood and interest, Titilaka offers a relaxing or exhilarating activity to suit you.
