Namibia is the perfect place to explore by road. Today you’ll be picking up a 4WD campervan, with fold out tents and a double cabin, just the right size for a family. With 11 days to explore you could head south towards Sossusvlei, where the famous orange sands surround the ancient trees of the Dead Vlei or stop for a few nights in the Kalahari to see the oryx wandering amongst the quiver trees. Over on the coast, your family could head out on the water from Swakopmund, where seals and pelicans come onto the boat to make friends.

Further north you’ll drive into Damaraland, where nomadic tribes and desert elephants roam the land. Eventually you’ll get to Etosha National Park, where your kids will love spotting lions snoozing on the rocks and zebras grazing on the endless plains. You’ll want to enjoy a few days here, watching bat eared foxes play in the dust, spending each night telling stories around the fire and gazing at the endless stars above you before heading to bed in your cosy tent on the roof of the vehicle.

There are loads of activities for your family to enjoy here, from sandboarding and quad-biking to wildlife cruises and hiking – if you want to one to your Namibian holiday, just ask!

Namibia’s climate is generally dry and pleasant. There is a short rainy season between December and March, where some days are humid and there are short localised thunderstorms in the afternoons. Game viewing is generally better in the dry season when wildlife is drawn to the waterholes. Nights are cool and days are often very hot.
