Itinerary in brief:
- 1 night Sydney
- 9 day Campervan Hire
- 1 night Brisbane
- 4 nights Heron Island, Great Barrier Reef
Day 1: Depart UK
Depart the UK from your chosen airport.
Included: International flight
Day 2: Arrive Sydney
To give you time to catch up on your sleep after such a long flight, we’ve included one night at a hotel near Sydney airport, before you collect your campervan the next day.
If you’re keen to stay in Sydney itself before hitting the road, we can add more nights her – just ask.
Included: Airport hotel
Days 3-10: Campervan self-drive from Sydney to Brisbane
We work with a range of campervan companies with a wide choice of vehicles from 2 to 6 berth, so we can put together a quotation based on the size of your party. Either way, we highly recommend you upgrade to an insurance package that reduces your liability and bond for a stress-free start to your holiday!
Once you’ve collected your vehicle, the open road beckons, but we can give advice on a suggested itinerary if you’d like. Hug the coastline or head inland, the choice is yours!
Included: Campervan hire
Day 11: Brisbane
To save paying for an extra day’s hire, we recommend dropping off the campervan at the Brisbane depot by close of business today. Stay overnight at an airport hotel ready for your flight tomorrow morning.
Included: Airport hotel
Days 12-15: Heron Island
Today you’ll take a flight from Brisbane to Gladstone, followed by the scheduled launch over to Heron Island – which takes around 2 hours. If you’d like to upgrade to a spectacular seaplane flight and arrive in style, just let us know!
Heron Island Resort is a coral cay located right on the Great Barrier Reef. The island is ribboned by sugar white sands, crystal clear waters and acres of brilliant coral with beautifully coloured marine life a real nature lover's paradise.
Heron offers many activities such as guided island and reef walks, semi-submersible cruises and beach picnics. An amazing array of animal and bird life can also be discovered right throughout the year. And of course Heron is world famous for its scuba diving and snorkelling.
For families travelling in school holidays, you can sign the kids up for the Heron Junior Rangers (7-12yrs), where they'll get up close and personal with a wonderful variety of marine creatures, and explore the fascinating coral cay forest and woodlands.
