Days 2 - 10: Exploring Kruger: safari and beach
You’ll start your round the world holiday in Africa, exploring the colourful wildlife and stunning beaches of South Africa on a week-long luxury trip through the bush. Here, you can experience the wilds of Africa without losing your creature comforts, taking guided tours to learn about the flora and fauna of Kruger National Park and watching the animals around the waterholes from the plunge pool.
During your stay, you’ll also head to the wetlands, where you can spot pelicans and flamingos and snorkel amongst the colourful marine life offshore. You’ll end your stint in South Africa on the beaches of the East Coast, where can lie on the beach and enjoy stunning sunsets.
Days 11 - 19: West Coast Thailand island hopping
From South Africa, you’ll fly to Thailand to spend 9 days island-hopping on the Andaman coast. It’s a luxury trip which begins in Phuket and visits the tropical islands of Koh Phi Phi and Koh Lanta in the Krabi Province. You’ll see the contrasts between these paradise islands and stay in our hand-picked selection of luxury boutique hotels and resorts, including a deluxe beachfront stay in Phuket.
Be as active or relaxed as you choose, soaking up the best that the Andaman coast has to offer, including the famous Maya Bay on Koh Phi Phi and the endless white beaches of Koh Lanta.
Days 19 – 22: Hong Kong stopover
From Thailand, you’ll travel to the exciting and diverse city of Hong Kong on this 4-day stopover package. Your stay includes 3 nights of accommodation, return airport transfers and the iconic Symphony of Lights cruise. In short, you’ll have everything you need to enjoy this classic Asian stopover destination to the max. Offering a captivating blend of old and new, Hong Kong presents neon signs and skyscrapers in juxtaposition with local markets and family-run street food stalls.
Days 23 – 30: Cultural New Zealand: North Island road trip
Next, you’ll head Down Under to enjoy a north island road trip through New Zealand. Starting in Auckland, you’ll explore the city before driving north to Paihia, on the shore of the beautiful Bay of Islands. Heading south, you’ll spend a night on the gorgeous Coromandel Peninsula to walk along its windswept beaches. before arriving in Rotorua to spend a few days enjoying this fascinating, fun region. Visit the magical world of Hobbiton, watch the haka at a Maori village, tuck into a delicious hangi feast and admire traditional art in Te Puia, before finishing your New Zealand North Island road trip back in Auckland.
Days 30 - 33: Sydney stopover
From New Zealand, you’ll make a 3-night stopover in Sydney, home to some of the most iconic architecture in the world. Wander around Circular Quay, take a tour of the Opera House, climb the Harbour Bridge and explore the Botanical Gardens, where sulphur-crested cockatoos fly overhead, squawking as they go.
Heading away from the Opera House, you could take the ferry to Manly for a stroll down the beach or even try hiking the trail from iconic Bondi to Coogee Beach, with endless views over the Pacific Ocean. Sydney is also the gateway to the Blue Mountains and the cool vines of the Hunter Valley, so there’s an endless number of day trips on offer.
Days 34 - 43: Self-drive USA: San Francisco to Los Angeles
From Australia, you’ll journey across the Pacific Ocean to kick back and enjoy the Californian pace of life on a west coast road trip from San Francisco to Los Angeles. This 10-day itinerary starts in the quirky city of San Francisco, with a day trip to the stunning wine country included, before heading along the coast. You'll then stop off in the seaside town of Carmel and drive the famous 'Big Sur' stretch of coastline, before ending your trip in Los Angeles, famous for its fabulous beaches and beautiful people.
Days 43 - 49: Classic Peru trip: Lima, Cusco & Machu Picchu
Next, you’ll head to South America and dive right into a classic Peru trip, combining Lima, Cusco and the Sacred Valley with a visit to Machu Picchu. In Lima, we’ve included a city tour to help you get your bearings in the capital and introduce you to its growing food scene.
You’ll then fly to the colonial city of Cusco, where you can spend a few days exploring the city and the nearby Sacred Valley. During your stay, you’ll find out how native llamas and alpacas are used in modern life and visit the impressive Ollantaytambo fortress. Finally, you’ll take a guided tour of Machu Picchu, with plenty of time to wander around and explore for yourself.
Day 49 - 55: Visit Santiago, Valparaiso & the Winelands in a week
After exploring the Inca heartlands, you’ll travel to the vineyards of the Andes and explore the Chilean capital on this 7 day Santiago to Mendoza itinerary that ends in the charming coastal town of Valparaiso.
As one of South America’s key cities, Santiago enchants visitors with its cosmopolitan flair and culinary heritage. In the wine valleys, you’ll be immersed in the beautiful landscapes of globally renowned vineyards. Finally, the picturesque location of Valparaiso offers the perfect end to your Chilean journey, with its colourful murals, arty cafes, and a liberal spirit.
Days 55 - 63: Visit Chilean Patagonia: Torres del Paine and Australis cruise
Next, you’ll discover some highlights of Chilean Patagonia on a trip that visits Torres del Paine, including the luxury Australis cruise. You’ll journey deep into this super-scenic region, reaching some remote and dramatic locations to and admiring some of the world’s oldest glaciers.
Beginning on solid land, you’ll explore Torres del Paine National Park, where you’ll encounter forests, waterfalls and lakes as you walk beneath the towering peaks or ‘horns’ of the Torres. You’ll take a boat trip to the Grey Glacier and look out for some Patagonian wildlife including guanacos (from the llama family).
Afterwards, you’ll take to the water, discovering the Chilean fjords on a luxury Australis cruise from Punta Arenas to Ushuaia. By day, you’ll sail through some of the most remote fjords of southern Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego, with two daily excursions. In the evenings, you can relax and discuss the day over a local Pisco while you tuck into traditional Patagonian cuisine.
Day 63 - 73: G Adventures Antarctica Classic cruise
Today, you’ll embark on the journey of a lifetime and touch down on your seventh continent – Antarctica. You’re heading off on a G Adventures Antarctica cruise from Ushuaia.
The Antarctic Peninsula is a beautiful world of white and blue. It’s a region of immense scale and visual splendour. Pass huge icebergs in the flat calm of a polar morning, encounter huge whales and enormous rookeries of penguins, and see stunning landscapes few have ever witnessed. This 11-day expedition will introduce you to the magic of the South Shetland Islands and the Antarctic Peninsula. It will reshape the way you look at your world.
Day 74 - 77: Buenos Aires
You’ll finish your epic bucket list holiday in Buenos Aires - one of the busiest cities in the world. Packed with colonial architecture, great food, beautiful people, dance and theatre, art, run-down districts and bohemian quarters, this sprawling metropolis is home to over one-third of the country’s population. However, it somehow retains a homely neighbourhood feel in the barrios. Buenos Aires is one city that you won't want to leave in a hurry!
