Explore three of South America’s most vibrant and famous cities over just two weeks; Santiago, Buenos Aires and Rio.
The Chilean capital, Santiago will surprise you with its energy and sophistication; Buenos Aires will get under your skin with its faded European grandeur and lively Latin spirit. Next, after a visit to the thundering Iguazu Falls, Rio will captivate you with lush green forests, vast mountains, and shimmering beaches, all fuelled by samba music and nightlife.
During this trip, you will spend a few nights in each city, and we have included day tours for you to discover the cultural and natural beauty of these capitals. This itinerary also features a two-night stay in Iguazu Falls. Located between Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro, it forms the perfect stopover between the two cities.

You will visit the main historical landmarks including the Government Palace, the Plaza de Armas with its majestic Metropolitan Cathedral and the Bellas Artes Museum, one of the major centres of South American art. You will travel mainly by private vehicle but you’ll also have the opportunity to explore the atmospheric pedestrian streets of Huerfanos and Ahumada. At the end of the tour, you will be dropped off at your hotel and the rest of the day will be free to spend at your leisure.
Today is a free day for you to explore the city and surroundings at your own pace. Why not add a guided tour to Valparaiso, the famous bohemian port town that lies on the coast a couple of hours from Santiago? We can arrange this for you, so please feel free to ask.
Today after breakfast you will be picked and transferred to the airport for your onward flight to Buenos Aires. On arrival, you will be met and taken by private vehicle to your hotel.
Today you will set off on a small group city tour of Buenos Aires, exploring the main barrios while your guide explains the city’s rich and fascinating history. You will make several stops on the journey and take a guided walk through the famous Boca district, Plaza de Mayo with the Casa Rosada (Pink House), the legendary presidential palace and the Cementerio de La Recoleta (Recoleta’s Cemetery), where Eva Peron rests.
Today, you will replace the hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires with a visit to the lush and charming town of Tigre. It sits on the delta of the Rio de la Plata and offers you the chance to see another way of life beyond the bright lights of the city. During this tour, you will be transferred by road to Tigre, stopping in San Isidro on the way. Once in Tigre, you will board a catamaran for a 40-minute cruise through the delta, where you can see how people live on the islands, complete with floating services like the supermarket boat, water taxi and more. At the end of the trip, you will return to the port and board your bus for the drive back to Buenos Aires.
This is your last day in Buenos Aires, so we have left it free for you to spend it as you wish.
After breakfast, you will be transferred by private vehicle to the domestic airport where you will catch a flight to Puerto Iguazu. Once landed, you will be taken by shared transfer to your hotel immersed in the jungle, within easy access to the falls.
Today you will take a full day guided tour to the Iguazu Falls. First, you will first cross the border into Brazil and enter the National Park on the Brazilian side, as this side of the falls offers a better panorama of all the cascades that make up this impressive natural wonder. After the visit, you will drive over to the Argentine side. This part of the tour will be longer, taking around 4 or 5 hours, as you will walk along the edge of the falls into their very heart at Garganta del Diablo (Devil’s throat). Here, several falls merge together in a horseshoe shape, with cascades plunging over 80 metres into the waters below.
Today you will take a shared transfer to Foz do Iguacu airport on the Brazilian side and then catch a flight to your final destination, Rio de Janeiro. Your private driver will be waiting for you on arrival, to take you to your hotel.
Today you take a fun half day tour to two of the most famous landmarks in the city. The tour will be shared with a small group of fellow travellers and your transport will be an open-air jeep! First, you will drive to the top of the hill where you will visit the statue of Christ the Redeemer and enjoy amazing views of the city below. Next, you will take a very scenic cable car to the top of Sugarloaf mountain, giving you a different and equally beautiful perspective of Rio de Janeiro.
Today is a free day to enjoy Rio de Janeiro at your own pace.
Today, you’ll say goodbye to Rio de Janeiro and Latin America after your two-week whirlwind trip. You will be transferred to the international airport by private vehicle and you will take your flight back to the UK.
Santiago and Buenos Aires can be visited all year round but the colder season will be from June to September, so pack for chilly weather if you’re travelling over this period. The rainy season at Iguazu Falls runs from October to March and the high water levels mean that the falls will be at their most impressive. However, heavy rains can lead to some trails being closed and the skies may be a little cloudy. May to August is considered the dry season – which means you have a good chance of seeing the falls under blue skies. Water levels and temperatures will be a little lower though and do remember that rain can fall year round.
