Get your adrenaline pumping today with whitewater rafting through the Suarez Canyon. In the evening, enjoy free time to relax or explore the area.
San Gil is a small city in northern Colombia known for being an adventure hot spot. With access to whitewater rapids, natural pools, and waterfalls, there is no shortage of adrenaline filled activities here.

Day 5: San Gil/Barichara
Enjoy a free morning to continue exploring San Gil. Choose from a variety of adventure packed activities or just explore the city. Transfer to the picturesque colonial town of Barichara in the late afternoon. With red-tiled roofs and cobblestone streets, this little town is a national monument due to its stunning historic architecture.

Day 6: Barichara
Grab your hiking shoes and head out on El Camino Real, a 9km (5.6 mi) walk along cobblestone pathways to the colonial town of Guane. Stop along the way to take in the scenery or drink a freshly made juice.

Day 7: Barichara/Medellín
Transfer from Barichara to Bucaramanga and catch an early flight to Medellin, dubbed one of the world's most innovative cities. Enjoy a free afternoon to explore the neighbourhoods and sample the local cuisine.

Day 8: Medellín
Start the day by exploring Colombia's second largest city by bike and learn about the fascinating recent history of the city's ongoing transformation. Spend the rest of the day with free time to explore this vibrant city.

Day 9: Medellín
Enjoy another free day and opt to visit the nearby town of Guatapé, with its colourful houses and famous rock. Or ride the metrocable, a cable car part of Medellín’s public transportation, for sweeping views of the city and surrounding mountains.

Day 10: Medellín/Cartagena
Hop on a morning flight to Cartagena and arrive in time to spend the afternoon exploring the old walled city. Opt for dinner and a night out in this lively town.

Day 11: Cartagena/Santa Marta
Travel to Santa Marta, the starting off point for the Lost City trek. Pick up any essentials you require for the trek ahead.

Day 12: Santa Marta/ Wiwa Camp
Transfer to Machete Pelao, where the trek to the Lost City of Teyuna begins. Trek through farmland, steamy jungle, and rural Kogi communities. Get a glimpse into the local way of life in the remote river valleys of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

Day 13: Wiwa Camp /Teyuna Paraiso Camp
Continue trekking along the route to Ciudad Perdida. Today is a tough portion of the trek with a lot of steep inclines, make sure to rest and take in the beautiful views. Arrive at the campsite in the afternoon and relax by the river.

Day 14: Teyuna Paraiso Camp/ Wiwa Camp
Get started early to climb the 1,200 steps up to the Lost City. The view of the surrounding Sierra Nevada Mountains makes it well worth the hike. Explore the Lost City and learn what is known of its origins from the indigenous guide, before making the descent back to Wiwa Camp for the night.

Day 15: Wiwa Camp /Ricardito Camp
Follow the path back through the deep jungle, wind through banana trees, cacao plants and small Kogi communities on the way to Ricardito Camp. The nickname for this camp is vista hermosa or beautiful views, sit back and soak them in.

Day 16: Santa Marta
Head across grassy hills and gentle streams to reach the Gotshezhy Wiwa indigenous community. Enjoy a G Adventures-supported lunch prepared by women from the community. Learn about Wiwa customs on a village visit and then lounge in a hammock by the river or opt to explore nearby waterfalls. In the afternoon, return to Santa Marta for a well deserved night in a hotel.
