    • 1 night Brisbane
    • 4 nights Heron Island, Great Barrier Reef

    Day 1: Depart UK

Depart the UK from your chosen airport.

    Included: International flight

    Day 2: Arrive in Sydney

To give you time to catch up on your sleep after such a long flight, we’ve included a night at a hotel near Sydney airport, before you collect your campervan the next day.

If you’re keen to stay in Sydney before hitting the road, we can add more nights here.

    Included: Airport hotel

    Days 3-4: Sydney

Your days here are free to do as you choose. Wander through Hyde Park, visit local wildlife at the Sydney Aquarium in Darling Harbour or simply enjoy a drink and soak up the view of the Sydney harbour by the iconic Opera House and Harbour Bridge.

We've included the Burrawa BridgeClimb, where you'll discover the aboriginal history of Sydney as you climb the iconic Harbour Bridge. Burrawa is a local Aboriginal word that means 'above' or 'upwards'. During this spectacular experience, you can admire unrivalled views of the Indigenous landmarks around Sydney Harbour including Bennelong and Barangaroo, while hearing the stories of Australia's First Nations people. Your guide will tell stories about local history from an Aboriginal perspective whilst looking down on the shores where Patyegarang taught William Dawes the language of Sydney.

Days 5-12: Campervan self-drive from Sydney to Brisbane

We work with a range of campervan companies with a wide choice of vehicles from 2 to 6 berth so that we can put together a quotation based on the size of your party. Either way, we highly recommend you upgrade to an insurance package that reduces your liability and bond for a stress-free start to your holiday.

Once you’ve collected your vehicle, the open road beckons, but we can advise on a suggested itinerary if you’d like. Hug the coastline or head inland, the choice is yours!

    Included: Campervan hire

    Day 13: Brisbane

To save paying for an extra day’s hire, we recommend dropping off the campervan at the Brisbane depot by close of business today. Stay overnight at an airport hotel ready for your flight tomorrow morning.

    Included: Airport hotel

    Days 14-16: Heron Island

Today you’ll take a flight from Brisbane to Gladstone, followed by a scheduled launch over to Heron Island which takes around 2 hours. If you’d like to upgrade to a spectacular seaplane flight and arrive in style, let us know.

Heron Island Resort is a coral cay on the Great Barrier Reef. Expect white sands, crystal clear waters, brilliant coral and beautifully coloured marine life - it's a real nature lover's paradise. The resort is a haven of marine colour and relaxation, with magical ocean views from many of the rooms

Heron offers activities like guided island and reef walks, semi-submersible cruises and beach picnics, and is world famous for its scuba diving and snorkelling.

If you're a family travelling in school holidays, why not sign up the kids for the Heron Junior Rangers? They'll get to see an excellent variety of marine creatures, and explore the fascinating coral cay forest and woodlands.

Included: Domestic flight, boat transfer to Heron Island, hotel & daily breakfast

    Day 17: Depart Heron Island

After breakfast, transfer back to Gladstone, where you will connect with your onward flight.

Included: Breakfast, transfer to Gladstone, domestic & international flights

    Day 18: Arrive UK

There are four distinct seasons in Sydney & Southern Queensland Country. Summertime runs between November & February when the weather will be very hot and sunny, Brisbane & the Whitsundays enjoy the sunshine and blue skies at this time. Prices will be at a premium over the Christmas and New Year holidays and availability limited so be sure to book in advance. March-May & Sept-Nov (Autumn & Spring) can be a great time to visit with weather milder and pleasant and crowds fewer.
