Delhi to Kathmandu, Nepal

Get up early to enjoy sunrise at the Taj Mahal
Arriving in the chaotic heart of India you're likely to experience a little culture shock - most people do. So to help you get stuck in we've included a 15 day Delhi to Kathmandu YOLO adventure. With the help of a tour guide, you'll soon be making friends and experiencing everything this rich culture has to offer. If you'd like us to arrange accommodation and airport transfers for a few days before the tour - just ask.

You'll visit the magnificent Taj Mahal, take an overnight train to the spiritual centre of Varanasi on the banks of the Ganges before heading on to Nepal's Chitwan National Park. This is one of Asia's premier wildlife destinations and the tour includes a jeep safari where you could spot Bengal tigers, leopards, rhinos and hyenas. Next, you'll head to lakeside Pokhara where you could try paragliding over the Himalayas (extra cost) before finishing up in the capital of Kathmandu with views over Everest!

Flying into cosmopolitan Singapore we've included a 3-night hotel stay with airport transfers. After the chaos of India, Singapore might feel like a breath of fresh air! You could visit Singapore's impressive zoo during the day or opt for the Night Safari; treat yourself to a cocktail at the Long Bar at the Raffles Hotel (famously home of the Singapore Sling), wander along Clarke Quay or take a river cruise down towards the iconic Marina Bay Sands hotel and the Merlion and enjoy this modern Asian city.

Bali, Indonesia

Wander through the rice terraces of Jatiluwih
Your flight from Singapore brings you into Denpasar on the island of Bali, Indonesia. From here it's a short transfer by bus or local taxi to Sanur for the start of your 14-day Classic Bali & Lombok small group tour. Experience traditional Balinese lifestyle and cuisine, see lush rice paddies, visit Ubud and on to the beaches of Candidasa to see floating palaces and temples. Visit local markets and fishing villages whilst enjoying the views over volcanoes before heading over to the magnificent Gili Islands. Next stop is Lombok where you can opt for horse riding, yoga or just some rest on the beaches. Bliss!

Your arrival point in Australia is Cairns, the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. We've included a 4-night stay at Gilligans Hostel where you can meet other travellers and make your base for exploring the reef and nearby coral cays. We've included a 1-day Michaelmas Cay & Great Barrier Reef trip to give you the best opportunities to snorkel over the reef, take a guided dive (or solo dive if you're PADI-qualified). You'll see an amazing array of coral, Nemo fish and other marine species like nowhere else on the planet! Explore one of the oldest surviving rainforests in the world with the 1 day 'Go Wild' Cape Tribulation Tour included in your package.

Cape Tribulation*

Daintree Rainforest, Queensland, Australia
Cape Tribulation is the only place in the world where two UNESCO world heritage sites border: Daintree Forest and the Great Barrier Reef so we've included a 1 day 'Go Wild' Cape Trib tour. Journey along one of Australia’s most scenic coastal drives, the Captain Cook Highway, and learn about the endangered wildlife before snapping a selfie holding a koala, snake or crocodile! Crossing the Daintree River, you'll stop for a tropical lunch followed by a swim or a walk along the spectacular Cape Tribulation Beach then a guided rainforest walk. You'll finish off with a Daintree River Cruise through the mangroves to spot crocodiles, birds and other wildlife. (*Open dated tour)

Continuing your journey down Australia's east coast, we've included a Hop-on/Hop-off Greyhound Bus Pass. You're free to jump off anywhere that looks interesting as you make your way down through Queensland, past Brisbane and on towards Sydney and Melbourne.

Departing from Airlie Beach on the Queensland coast, we've included a 2 day Whitsundays sailing trip. Board a yacht and laze on the huge deck as you sail out to these magnificent islands sailing approximately 100km in 2 days. You'll visit Whitehaven Beach and head out to the northern islands where you'll find the best fringing coral reefs. There are 2 snorkelling stops included as well as an opportunity for introductory or certified scuba dives. You'll come away with a greater appreciation of this stunning region and you can even turn your hand to steering or hoisting the sails if you like! (*Open dated tour)

Sydney Opera House
Arriving on the Greyhound Bus you can get off in Central Sydney and make your way to the Wakeup! Sydney Central Hostel for a 4-night stay. From here you can visit the iconic sights; Sydney Harbour Bridge, Circular Quay and the Opera House before making the most of Sydney's nightlife! If you enjoy heights, we could add on a Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb, take a cruise around the harbour or make your way out to Bondi or Manly beach for some surf and sunbathing. Sydney is a real 'outdoors' city so make the most of the alfresco life whilst you're here.

Blue Mountains

The Blue Mountains are well worth the trip from Sydney | photo credit: Destination NSW
Located just a few hours' drive from Sydney, the Blue Mountains are a 'must see' for visitors to Sydney. We've included 1-day tour into the Blue Mountains with an overnight stay in Katoomba. Named for their bluish hue due to the Eucalyptus trees that line the hillsides, the Blue Mountains are home to many different species of animal and bird life - be on the lookout for native birds and Eastern Grey kangaroos on your 2-hour walk to Wentworh Falls. Next, you'll get to see the rock stacks known as the 'Three Sisters' and hear the legend surrounding their formation. After lunch, you'll take the steepest railway in the world into the Katoomba Valley with panoramic views over the Jamison Valley. A peaceful contrast to bustling city life!

Spend a few days in Melbourne - Australia's capital of culture
From Sydney, you'll fly into Melbourne where we've included a 4-night stay at the Base Hostel in St Kilda. Spend your free time to discovering the great shopping and arts this city has to offer, from the boho vibes and beaches of St Kilda to the MCG Sports ground and the buzz of the Southbank cafes and restaurants. We can arrange day trips to Phillip Island to see the little penguins, a road trip along the Great Ocean Road to see the rock stacks known as the Twelve Apostles or even a wander around the TV set and meet some of the cast of Neighbours! Just ask.

Christchurch to Auckland, NZ

Skydiving in Queenstown, New Zealand
Christchurch is your arrival city on New Zealand's South Island. We've included a Stray 'Dave' Hop-on/Hop-off bus pass (minimum 17 days), which means you can see both islands at your own pace. Head to NZ's adventure capital - Queenstown - and get your thrills by bungee jumping, whitewater rafting or canyoning. See the South Island's glaciers before heading up towards the wine regions and catching the ferry over to Wellington on the North Island. From here you could explore Rotorua's geothermal spots, Lake Taupo and the Kiwi Maori heritage before reaching Auckland and heading up to Northland and the Bay of Islands before heading back to Auckland for your next flight.

Arriving in Argentina's capital you'll get your first taste of South America where we've included a 3-night hotel stay with airport transfers. With free time to explore on your own, you can stroll through the pretty La Boca district with its painted houses, join a tango class, watch a Boca Juniors football match or sample the classic Argentinian cuisine - steak and red wine. You'll have plenty of time to discover the sights, smells and sounds of the city before embarking on the rest of your South America adventure by bus.

Leaving Buenos Aires, we've included a Hop-on/Hop-off Bamba Bus Pass which will take you all the way to Cusco in Peru. You can hop off anywhere you decide, or we can plan in some more stops for you en route - just ask!

You'll arrive by bus in Cusco, Peru which is the jumping-off point for Machu Picchu. We've included our 4-day Budget Inca Trail - the iconic trek that winds its way along ancient Inca highways and past other Inca ruins towards your final destination, which you'll reach at dawn - the famous hilltop city of Machu Picchu. The Inca Trail requires a permit which needs to be booked in advance so don't be disappointed by turning up without a tour booked. This tour includes the permit, so all you have to do is get up and trek!

Rio, Brazil

Your final destination on this epic trip is Rio in Brazil. There's plenty to see here but make sure you don't miss a trip up the Corcovado to stand at the bottom of the Statue of Christ for incredible views over the city, and for even more vistas take the cable car up Sugar Loaf Mountain. After that, you'll be left with plenty of time to relax on the beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema with a Caipirinha (Brazil's national cocktail). If you're lucky enough to visit in February during Rio Carnival you'll see the city at it's finest, although you will need to book accommodation ahead of your arrival.

Advice on extra money expenditure

Australia & New Zealand are more expensive than Asia, India and South America where you could budget around £10 a day (average) for 3 local-style meals, local beers come in at around £1. In Australia you would probably want to set aside around £30/£50 a day, beers are much more expensive (between $8-$12 dollars) When travelling the east coast, the best option is to buy food from supermarkets and cook in the hostel kitchens, a real money saving exercise: leaving more funds for fun activities and nights out! Make sure to save plenty of cash for all of your activities/excursions in New Zealand, you won't want to miss out when you see what's on offer!
