Despite some setbacks in its political and economic landscapes, Zimbabwe remains a wonderful safari destination in Africa, home to lush national parks, luxurious lodges and of course, the majestic Victoria Falls. Take a dip in Devils Pool on the edge of the falls, or for an adrenaline thrill, leap into a dramatic bungee jump over the thundering waters or raft the swirling rapids of the Zambezi River. For a more leisurely experience, spot African elephants and hippos as they cool off in Mana Pools, and linger in fascination as you watch the herds of zebra, giraffes and baboons meeting at the waterhole on Nyamandlovu Pan. Wander amongst the historical exhibits in the fascinating Bulawayo Railway Museum and see native Zimbabwean plants and flowers at the National Botanical Gardens in Harare.
