So, why come and work for Travel Nation? Well, if you’d enjoy being part of a friendly, hard-working team who spend their days creating trips of a lifetime all over the world, then you’ve come to the right place.
We all play a part in creating memorable trips for our customers. We offer first-hand destination advice, plenty of ‘can-do’ suggestions and a seamless booking process, and we aim to make every trip feel like a trip of a lifetime.
Based in central Brighton, we’re 5 minutes from the train station and 15 minutes walk from the sea. Brighton is a magnetic destination with a flourishing arts scene plus plenty of live music and events. Our office is very close to the North Laine, which is home to boutiques and designer-makers and craft breweries. Brighton is well-known for its food scene, from Abyssinian to Argentinean with all things vegetarian and vegan catered for. We're also very close to 3 gyms and a swimming pool, and we have more local, independent coffee houses than you could visit in a month.
Our friendly English, French and German teams all work in the same office so we can lunch and socialise together. Whether it’s celebratory drinks, supplier-sponsored nights out or our summer and Christmas shindigs – we love our city, and we like to socialise here.
Because our teams are all based in the same office, you’ll be able to chat with the product team face to face and even input into product selection if you have a particular specialism. You can also work with our marketing team to write about your trips for our blog if you’d like to.
Because we specialise in around the world trips, they are by nature varied. If you get a kick out of planning complex or bizarre flight itineraries and knowing you’re building a ‘trip of a lifetime’ - you’re in the right place.
We work to realistic sales targets, but we also believe in offering our sales team the security of a high basic salary in addition to uncapped bonuses and a monthly company-wide bonus scheme. You’ll have 6-monthly pay reviews alongside all the coaching and training you need to develop.
We appreciate that everyone’s circumstances differ, so we offer our UK sales consultants a choice of two different schemes, both with generous uncapped bonuses - the decision is yours.
You love to travel, and that’s something we want to encourage. For our sales and product staff we offer an annual travel fund, which combined with staff discounts makes your travel money go further – all we ask is you pick a new destination each time, give a small presentation and write it up for the blog.
We contribute to your workplace pension scheme, and beyond that, we’ve picked a fund that offers you maximum visibility and control of your investments. You can easily top up contributions or start new savings pots yourself, via an app. We also contribute more to your pension the longer you work for Travel Nation.
In this case, there is such a thing as a free lunch! With a different healthy, fresh and seasonal menu every week, you’ll be treated to vegetarian soups, salads, wraps, curries, bakes, pasta and fresh bread that’s so local it's baked in the premises downstairs.
We’re determined to maintain a culture that’s enjoyable for everyone. We have a dedicated rec-room which has table tennis and a pool table and every Friday, we make sure everyone in the office gets to enjoy a well-earned beer before they leave.
We operate a shift system with an online roster to request changes. We’re open to home working arrangements and the possibility of a 3 or 4-day working week to benefit working parents.
Members of our sales and product teams are only required to work 11 Saturdays per year and one bank holiday. Our non-sales teams don't work any weekends. Our basic holiday allowance is 25 days a year (plus bank holidays), which increases with long service.
As people who appreciate travel as much as you do, we understand that from time to time you may want to take an extended trip. Once you’ve completed two years’ service, we’re open to you taking an (unpaid) sabbatical period. And after ten years’ service, we offer a four week paid sabbatical.
Beginning with your induction training, you’ll have regular opportunities to brush up on destinations and suppliers to keep current. We even hold occasional themed training evenings like our South Pacific event, complete with Pacific meal and a prize draw for a Fiji fam trip.
Every year we offer worldwide educational tours as an opportunity to discover a new destination or refresh your product knowledge. In 2018 alone we sent our team members on educational trips to Australia, Nepal, Fiji, French Polynesia, the Cook Islands, Thailand, New Zealand and more.
For a bit more peace of mind, we offer everyone a cashback scheme that reimburses you for some dental, optical or prescription costs and gives cash back for hospital stays. We also offer free flu jabs as the winter approaches.
To support our mums and dads, we offer an enhanced package for parents beyond the statutory maternity and paternity pay.
We're members of Easit Brighton & Hove, which means you can benefit from 15% discount on Southern Rail train travel, 10% off local Brighton buses, discounts on car club membership and buying a bike - all designed to make the commute easier and greener.
If you’re not local to Brighton and need some relocation help, we can offer some financial support to make your move smooth.
