Whether you’re travelling solo or with a partner, joining a small group tour with an expert local guide for part of your trip is a sociable way to explore off the beaten track.

Our tours come in all shapes and sizes, so we can always find one to suit you. Amongst others, there are ‘YOLO’ tours (for 18-39s), family tours, active tours and National Geographic Journeys (the most comfortable tours we offer and these have the most inclusions). Travelling with a few others, you’ll have a guide who can speak the language and knows the best spots. These tours include all accommodation, local transport and breakfast - which makes it easy to budget too.

If you’re ready to start exploring with a group - here’s our idea for a round the world trip in tours...

Bangkok to Singapore

For group adventures starting in Bangkok, you have plenty of choice. If you join the 15 day Iconic Thailand National Geographic Journey, you’ll cover all the highlights; head north to Kanchanaburi to visit the Bridge over the River Kwai and the Burmese war museum. Visit the ancient kingdom of Ayutthaya and dine on a rice barge, then head to Chiang Mai for a traditional cooking class and a chat with local Buddhist monks to learn about daily life. Looping back through Bangkok, visit the Grand Palace or take a boat tour of the canals, before heading to the southern beaches. Explore Koh Samui by long tail boat and with your snorkel, then be guided through the rainforest of Khao Sok and dine beneath the stars before finishing your trip on the beautiful beaches and amidst the limestone karsts of Krabi!

If you want to take one tour all the way to Singapore, our South East Asia on a Shoestring (YOLO tour) journeys into Malaysia where you can enjoy the colonial architecture of George Town in Penang with its thriving Little India and Chinatown. Sip freshly picked tea after a tour through the lush plantations of the Cameron Highlands, snap a selfie in front of Kuala Lumpur’s futuristic Petronas Towers and find yourself wandering the colonial streets of Melaka, home of the kitsch trishaw and a veritable feast at the Sunday night street food market. And just a hop, skip and a jump over the border, elegant Singapore awaits.

Taking Sydney as your arrival city - you could join the Explore Australia National Geographic Journey for a truly relaxing experience. It kicks off with a sunset BBQ on a private yacht on Sydney harbour before flying you up to the rainforest and reefs of tropical north Queensland where you’ll hear a talk from a marine biologist and an expert in history and culture of the rainforest people. Continue over to Uluru and catch sunset over the rock as well as a guided walk around the base. Finish up in Melbourne discovering the laneways on a guided foodie walk and eat a progressive lunch in the company of a local author and storyteller! Simply hop on a domestic flight back to Sydney and you’ll be ready for your next destination!

If surfing is for you, join the 4 day Aussie Surfing Adventure in Sydney and you’ll be able to beach-hop along the coast all the way from iconic from Bondi Beach to Byron Bay, with surfing lessons included. Make friends, perfect your balance and seek out that perfect wave. If you’re on an absolute shoestring, our whistle stop 7 day Sydney to Brisbane Experience (YOLO tour) manages to pack in wine tasting, gold panning, swimming, surfing and sea kayaking!

Auckland – the gateway to New Zealand

If you don’t have long, why not go for the 4 day New Zealand & the Bay of Islands tour? Sleeping on a house boat, you’ll have time to snorkel and kayak from the boat, go dolphin watching (or even swim with them!) and enjoy a lovely Kiwi BBQ. With a little longer, our comfortable 11 day New Zealand Journey includes wine tasting and a traditional Maori hangi feast, a visit to glow worm caves and an unforgettable journey on the scenic TranzAlpine train, plus glacier walking and a cruise through the spectacular Fiordlands. If you prefer to keep things active, our 3 week New Zealand Multisport tour will raise your adrenaline whilst sowing you the sights. It includes cycling, kayaking, white water rafting, jet boating and hiking included with options to add on horse riding, skydiving and anything on offer in the adventure capital of New Zealand - Queenstown.

Buenos Aires to Lima

Buenos Aires is the starting point for many a trans-continental adventure, so you’re in a great place. You could join the 14 day Discover Patagonia National Geographic Journey and visit both Argentina and Chile; discover the lake districts before spying the jagged peaks and the rugged wilderness of Torres del Paine National Park. After a morning lecture, get up close to the Perito Moreno glacier and see this glacier first-hand. Journey to the southernmost point of the Americas to Ushuaia, to spot penguins and explore with a naturalist guide, before flying back to Buenos Aires. Enjoy a few days of city life and something totally different – a tango dance class!

If you’re looking for something even more epic, consider the 35 day Buenos Aires to Lima adventure (YOLO tour)). Over the course of about 5 weeks, you’ll travel through Argentina, Bolivia, Chile and Peru; you’ll see the Nazca Lines, hike the Inca Trail, sail across cross Lake Titicaca, trek across Uyuni’s brilliant white salt flats and traverse the Atacama Desert - a lifetime of adventure in such a short space of time!

Cancun to Mexico city

The lure of Mexico’s Caribbean coast is very hard to resist with its idyllic combination of white sands and intriguing Mayan ruins peeking through the wilderness. Our 10 day Yucatan, Chiapas & Mayan Riviera showcases the best of the Yucatan region’s beaches and cenotes (underground pools) and includes a guided visit to the ancient Mayan pyramid at Chichen Itza and the ruins at Palenque and Tulum. With a little longer, you could include these but also venture into another two countries - Guatemala and Belize with our 15 day Mayan Discovery.

Alternatively, why not spend a few days unwinding on the beach before making your way up to Mexico City to join this utterly unique 10 Day Mexico Monarch Butterfly tour? Pursue these delicate, elusive creatures from the colonial colonnades of Patzcuaro to three different butterfly reserves. You’ll climb a hillside to be magically surrounded by millions upon millions of fluttering butterflies!

Las Vegas to San Francisco

The south western USA is utterly spectacular and pretty vast! For a back-to-nature experience, try the 16 day Canyon Country & Coasts: Vegas to San Francisco (YOLO tour). Camp your way through Bryce Canyon, Arches NP, Monument Valley, Lake Powell and on to the Grand Canyon before making for the coast. Add in San Diego, LA, the Pacific Coast Highway and San Francisco and you have the south west pretty much covered!

Another choice would be either of these National Geographic Journeys; the 9 day Natural highlights of California begins in Vegas and takes you on a jeep tour through Death Valley, the lowest, hottest and driest place in North America. Heading to Yosemite you’ll enter a completely contrasting landscape; lush valleys, crystal lakes and thundering waterfalls. You’ll continue on to Sequoia NP, home to these towering trees, where you’ll hear first-hand how the forest is being protected and enjoy a night-time star gazing treat! You’ll also get a special talk on otters at the Monterey Bay aquarium before making your way up to finish in San Francisco.

For a loop that stats and ends in Vegas, choose the 8 day Discover American Canyonlands National Geographic Journey which visits Zion, Bryce and Grand Canyon National Parks and includes a rim walk and a day exploring the Grand Canyon with a geologist on hand to answer all questions!
