Financial security is very important when making travel arrangements so in accordance with UK law, we comply fully with all regulations that exist to provide consumer protection. By booking all of your travel components with us (an ATOL licenced and ABTA bonded company), you benefit from our expertise and a single point of contact for all your arrangements, but more importantly you're entitled to greater financial protection than by booking via several separate operators.
Obtaining an Air Tour Organiser’s License (ATOL), is dependent on meeting stringent financial and professional criteria set by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
ATOL protection applies to all bookings for customers who have booked flights with us and the first international flight departs from the UK or the Republic of Ireland. When you book with us, you will receive an ATOL certificate confirming what is covered. In the unlikely event of our insolvency, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) would ensure that you're not stranded abroad, and they will also arrange to refund any monies you have paid to us for an advance booking. ATOL protection does not apply to all holiday and travel services. Please ask us to confirm what protection may apply to your booking. If you do not receive an ATOL Certificate then the booking will not be ATOL protected. If you do receive an ATOL Certificate but all the parts of your trip are not listed on it, those parts will not be ATOL protected. Please see our booking conditions for information, or for more information about financial protection and the ATOL Certificate go to www.atol.org.uk/ATOLCertificate.
Travel Nation's ATOL status can be verified on the Civil Aviation Authority website.
All bookings where we are the principal and that do not include international flights from the UK (e.g. single element hotel, car hire or tour bookings) are protected by our ABTA bond. ABTA acts as a trade association for travel agents and tour operators and has both a commercial and regulatory role with all ABTA members being required to operate to agreed codes of conduct. In the event of an unresolved dispute between a passenger and any ABTA member, there is an arbitration service which can be used as an alternative to legal action. Our ABTA number is Y1114 and can be verified on the ABTA website.
When we act as a Travel Agent we may occasionally offer for sale single element arrangements (e.g. hotel only, car hire, attraction tickets) that are fulfilled by an un-bonded provider/principal. On these occasions we provide a company guarantee that should that company cease trading you will be offered a suitable alternative or a full refund.
IATA is a trade body that represents most major airlines and any travel agent displaying the IATA logo has met stringent financial and professional criteria. IATA membership doesn't provide financial protection to passengers, but this is provided by our ATOL status and by our Airline Failure Protection.
The ATOL certificate that we issue to our customers with every booking is the last word in financial security, so there is no additional benefit in paying with a credit card. Credit cards only provide additional cover when purchasing flights and holidays when they are purchased directly from airlines or travel agents/tour operators that do not issue ATOL certificates.
