So, why come and work for Travel Nation? Well, if you’d enjoy being part of a friendly, hard-working team who spend their days creating trips of a lifetime all over the world, then you’ve come to the right place.
Everyone here plays a part in creating memorable trips for our customers. By offering first-hand destination advice, plenty of ‘can-do’ suggestions and a seamless booking process, we aim to make every trip feel like the trip of a lifetime.
We don’t operate a shop so we deal with customers primarily over the phone and by email. Nonetheless, every week we do have customers who pop in to our office; planning a round the world holiday is quite in-depth, so naturally some customers still prefer to deal face to face.
Based in central Brighton, we’re just a 5 minute hop from the train station and 15 minutes from the sea. Brighton is a truly magnetic seaside destination that’s endowed with a flourishing arts scene plus plenty of live music and events. Our office is on the doorstep of the North Laine, which is home to boutiques and designer-makers and craft breweries. If eating out is on the agenda, the city offers a dizzying diversity from Abyssinian to Argentinean with all things vegetarian and vegan catered for in between. Being centrally located, we're also very close to 3 gyms and a swimming pool and we have more local, independent coffee houses than you could visit in a month.
Genuine involvement – because our teams are all in the same office, you’ll be able to chat to the product team face to face and even input into product selection if you have a particular specialism. You can also work with our marketing team to write about your trips for our blog if you’d like to.
A supportive environment – we’re determined to cultivate and maintain a culture that’s enjoyable and supportive for everyone. We’re always looking for staff feedback, and we provide regular opportunities to litmus-test the team though simple, anonymous feedback throughout the year.
Educational trips – every year we offer worldwide educational trips as an opportunity to discover a new destination or refresh your product knowledge. In 2016 alone we sent team members on educational trips to Australia, Bali, Chile, Colombia, Fiji, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.
Daily lunch – in this case, there is such a thing as a free lunch! With a different healthy, fresh and seasonal menu every week, you’ll be treated to soups, salads, wraps, curries, bakes, pasta and fresh bread that’s so local it was baked in the premises downstairs.
Flexibility in working hours – we operate a shift system with an online roster to request changes. We’re open to home working arrangements and the possibility of a 3 or 4 day working week to benefit working parents.
Keep more of your weekends free – members of our sales/product team are only required to work 10 Saturdays per year, one Sunday in January and one bank holiday per year.
Sabbatical opportunity after 2 years – as people who appreciate travel as much as you do, we understand that from time to time you may want to take an extended trip. Once you’ve completed 2 years’ service, we’re open to you taking a sabbatical period.
Contributory pension – we contribute to your workplace pension scheme and beyond that, we’ve picked a fund that offers you maximum visibility and control of your investments. You can easily top up contributions or start new savings pots yourself, via an app.
Easit travel club membership - as we're members of Easit Brighton & Hove, you can benefit from 15% discount on Southern train travel, 10% off local Brighton buses, discounts on car club membership and buying a bike - all designed to make the commute easier and greener.
Relocation assistance – if you’re not local to Brighton and need some relocation help, we can offer some financial support to make your move smooth.
