The Canadian Train

If you're after an epic coast to coast Canada experience, the Canadian Train is just the ticket. Travelling 4,466 kilometres from Toronto to Vancouver, it can carry you all the way from the shores of Lake Ontario to the Pacific Ocean. If you book a SleeperPlus or Prestige ticket aboard the Canadian, you'll be treated to freshly prepared local cuisine, a cosy cabin and access to the amazing Panorama Car. Known as the Great Western Way, the total trip takes 4 days and 4 nights, travelling through prairies, alongside rivers and through the iconic Rocky Mountains.

The Ocean Train

Travelling between Montreal and Halifax, the Ocean Train can take you to charming coastal reaches of Nova Scotia. In total, the journey takes 22 hours, so you'll spend one memorable night on the train. If you travel in Sleeper Plus, you'll sleep in a cosy sleeper cabin. On the way, you can enjoy freshly-prepared Canadian cuisine, great bar service and, in the summer, there's an even an onboard entertainment programme. When you arrive in Halifax, you can explore the best of Nova Scotia. Go whale-watching on Prince Edward Island, visit idyllic Peggy's Cove, feast on local lobster and soak up the coastal scenery.

The Skeena Train

Known as one of Canada's 'Adventure Routes', the Skeena Train travels 1,160km through the Rocky Mountains to the northwest Pacific Coast. On the way, you'll pass salmon-filled rivers, abandoned settlements and huge swathes of wilderness. It's a great way to get a taste of remote British Columbia, travelling through scenery inaccessible by car or on foot. Beginning in Jasper and ending in Prince Rupert, the journey takes 2 days and you'll disembark at Prince George to sleep overnight in a comfortable hotel.

The Rocky Mountaineer

The Rocky Mountaineer is a world-class travel experience that combines outstanding service with awe-inspiring Canadian landscapes. A journey aboard the Rocky Mountaineer will give you an epic window over vivid turquoise lakes, dramatic waterfalls and alpine forests, all framed by the majestic Rocky Mountains. Departing from Vancouver, you can choose to travel from Vancouver to Banff, Calgary or Jasper. Whatever your final destination, you are guaranteed a once-in-a-lifetime rail journey to really remember.

Covering around 280 miles a day, you can expect to spend about two days on the train travelling through scenery that would be inaccessible by car or on foot. Along the way, the friendly onboard hosts will help you spot native wildlife, including moose, elk, bears and eagles, from the glass-domed observation car. There are no sleeping cabins aboard the Rocky Mountaineer, so you'll disembark each day to stay in a top-notch hotel surrounded by stunning scenery.
