We ordered a Round the World trip through Travel Nation. Travel Nation have been very patient and polite even though we asked them about many different options. The package included airfares, hotels and rental car. Througout the booking Travel Nation replied fast and answered every question we had, and applied the changes in schedule fast and in a polite way. A very good thing is that you get your own travelagent and he/she replies to all your questions. This feels very safe, and our travel agent Adam where really helpfull.
We haven`t yet taken the trip (we are leaving nov. 11. 2012) and have yet to prove that everything works out the way TN have booked. But from the booking process we have high expectations and are really looking forward to our trip.

Just to let you know how much we enjoyed our holiday which was absolutely fantastic. We particularly fell in love with Fiji and the Fijians despite the "biblical rain" on the first couple of days. Also up for a special mention are the Harbour Rocks Hotel, Heron Island and Crown Plaza who all gave us a bottle of champagne to help us celebrate our silver wedding anniversary. In fact Harbour Rocks gave us chocolates as well. Not sure if we were upgraded by any of the hotels we stayed at, but we were in beach front accomodation on both Heron and Matamanoa which was lovely and had a view of the Opera House at Harbour Rocks. Indeed the accomodation throughout was very good, so thank you for that. We had some wonderful experiences while we were away, whale watching, horse riding up the beach, albatross watching, riding in a horse driven carriage up Swann St in Melbourne with the rellies, a hail storm on Christmas day, an amazing thunder storm on Heron Island, snorkelling with sharks (they weren't meant to be there), turtles egg laying, walking up a moonlit beach, Fiji. So many things so thanks again for organising this for us and making it easy for a couple of pretty inexperienced travellers.

I am writing to thank you for the fabulous service we have received from your company, particularly Sophie Vintner who organised our trip of a lifetime. We are both mid forties who have travelled extensively in Europe and like nice hotels, but have not travelled widely elsewhere. Due to a change in work circumstances we wanted to travel the world for 6 months independently but in comfort. I found Travel Nation whilst looking for a tour company that could provide module tours in Vietnam that were not backpacking or luxury coach tours and from Rickshaw travel surfed to Travel Nation and found Sophie. From very beginning of our planning it was obvious Travel Nation & Sophie were head and shoulders over any other company we had spoken to. We had quite exact non-standard requirements, we knew the countries we wanted to visit, we like cities & beaches, wanted to stay in small boutique hotels, prefer to travel overland where possible (in comfort, but not on tour buses!) and wanted business class flights over 5 hours. Sophie translated our requirements perfectly and even at the planning stage we hardly had to make any amendments to her suggested schedules. She made great suggestions for destinations several of which became highlights of our trip and completely 'got' our hotel & travel requirements. The schedule she put together proved to be perfectly balanced and meant we did everything we wanted to and much more. In Argentina/Brazil particularly the scheduling was inspired BA to Salta to Iguazu to Salvador & Morro took us from city to high altitude dryness to lush forest and then fabulous beaches, absolutely perfect. During our trip we stayed in over 60 hotels and only Ayers Rock Resort (for obvious reasons) was not spot on, the rest ranged from the really lovely to the absolutely fabulous. All of the local agencies used were spot on and provided a great service 'on the ground'. Our flights, trains, cars, boats & minibuses were also brilliant and we never set foot on a coach tour during the whole trip which was a great achievement! All the elements came together brilliantly. In our 6 months we were hit by several natural events including floods & hurricane in Australia, tsunami in Japan & unseasonal snow in northern Argentina all of which meant we had to change our schedules & hotels. Sophie (& Jonny in her absence) provided fabulous service changing plans and rescheduling flights & hotels. On a couple of occasions we were smug when we heard other travellers problems getting their travel agents to respond to enforced changes, we knew our agents had it all in hand. This also means we still have Japan to look forward to next March! We really have had the trip of a lifetime and can't thank Sophie enough for helping us to make it happen. I recommend Travel Nation to everyone I know as well as random people we encountered while travelling! Thanks again.

Thank you, Sally; Having arrived as planned in AKL, Buff went straight to the Qantas desk in the international terminal and presented herself to the checkin. She was told she’d got there very quickly (she’s not one to hang around between terminals!), and that there was a smaller aircraft due to leave earlier than her scheduled one for SYD, with 13 seats on it; her scheduled one was expected in AKL too late to be able to turn round in time for her to be sure of her connection in SYD. Tho’ all the rest of the flights were delayed en route, she made it to MCR safely — the flight from LHR took only 35 minutes as the pilot was determined to make up for lost time!!! Not the most fuel-efficient flight, I guess. Because of all the upsets around the ash cloud and the fact that planes weren’t where they would normally be, your efforts to secure her an exit seat went out of the window, I’m afraid. But the important thing is that she’s safely home, and on the day we were expecting her… She's now getting thro’ the jetlag and we’re off to Welshpool tomorrow evening for her to meet the newest grandchild (no. 11) who she's not met yet, born as he was on 7th June to our son & daughter-in-law. Malachi, brother to Naomi. Our families in both northern & southern hemispheres seem to be going for good Old Testament names! May I take this opportunity to thank you so much for all you did to facilitate our trip. It was memorable in countless ways, and you dealt so promptly and graciously with all our queries whether on the phone or by email. You did a brilliant job, and we’re very grateful. First we must say thanks for the arrangements you made. All worked very well and we had a wonderful trip, we should certainly be pleased to recommend you and your services, and will do so if given the opportunity. Singapore was really interesting and the hotel was well situated and very comfortable. As we spent most of the time sight-seeing we did not use many of the hotel facilities but for us it was ideal. Langkawi was great and the Westin Langkawi was a delight. The breakfast buffet was brilliant the room was very good and the facilities excellent. The location is also good as unlike many of the other resort hotels on the island it is close to other centers of population with restaurants etc. Hong Kong was again all about sight-seeing. The hotel was good but functional. Extremely large and as a result there was little actual service and long queues at reception and check-out. But it suited our needs and the location was OK to get on the Metro and out to our destination. All in all it was a very good trip and everything worked really well. Flights linking and on time and accommodation to expectation. Again thanks to you and we'll be back. All Best

Firstly I want to wish you and all the staff at Travel Nation a wonderful Christmas and happy New Year. I’ve been a bit slow in writing to you, but glad to have the chance to finally do so. I booked a Round the world ticket with T.N, and after my year away returned home in October. I had the most fantastic life changing experience, and could not have made it round without the amazing staff in your office. When ever I had a problem or needed to change a flight date, your staff always gave me the best options for travel, were polite and prompt. There was never a problem at any of the many airports I went through, and with the knowledge that I was backed up by T.N I felt much more secure in my adventure. A huge thank-you to all the team, who ever I spoke to helped me. Jackie, when I called from Hong-Kong, Paul when I was in Jordan and India, but most of the time it was Matt. Matt got me to Easter Island even though flights were hard to come by because of a solar eclipse. And Matt went out of his way and was a fantastic help, when I got stranded in Mexico because the airline (Mexicana) went bust. He got me out to Cancun and onto my destination Havana. And I know he did all this when it was way past 6pm in the UK. Matt saved the day, and I’m truly grateful. You guys do an incredible job at travel, and I have mentioned T.N to many people, and will continue to do so. If anyone ever has any doubts about traveling on a RTW ticket verses a ’pay as you go’ format, it has to be the RTW ticket, and from Travel Nation. Thanks Sophie! The honeymoon was great on many levels. The Gap Adventures tour guides were fantastic, especially in Chiang Mai and they were prepared to do more activities with us outside the itinerary guidelines, for example we headed to Laos on a speed boat for an afternoon! great fun! Thank you for all your input and patience organising the trip - we said a few times on the trip how impressed we were with the itinerary - it flowed very well. By the way the hotels with Gap as well were fantastic, we were very very lucky - oh and the weather, amazing! Now back to -12°C in Edinburgh, such a contrast! but after an epic 3 weeks in the sun it’s not so bad! Hope your well and thanks again for all your help and advice – i often get it wrong when booking our holidays, there tends to be some comprise or disappointment with something but for this trip – the most important and big trip for both of us – I and my husband was very impressed at how well it went – logistically, the order of places we went, flights etc – i took all the credit of course but couldn’t have done it without you, thank you!

Have been back a month and just about getting back to reality. I just wanted to say a huge thank you for all your help. We had an absolutely unforgetable trip of a life time. We were particularly grateful that we had booked so many things in advance as it meant we had a little luxury when the money started to get tight.

The only thing I might have done differently was to stay a bit longer in New Zealand as the highlights pass was a night in each town - which was a bit intense and tiring. Overall we had no problems a few of the plane times had changes slightly but apart from that everything went according to plan.

Gap adventures were fantastic making the inca trail the highlight of our trip. I don't think we would have got half as much out of our trip without the organisation, advice and reassurance from you Jackie. Having the same person organise the trip from the very first phone call all the way through to hysterical queries in the middle of South America takes away a lot of the stress of embarking on the journey. I have and will recommend you to anyone I hear is travelling. Thanks for doing an awesome job,

Well, we made it. What a fantastic trip, everything went to plan. We lived our dream. Thank you so much for all your help in the planning, your care and attention to detail made everything seem so simple when we were actually travelling.

Now that we’re back home and back to work it's hard to believe that we’ve actually been to all those places, it feels like someone else has done it. However, we've got 3,000 photos to prove it! You're welcome to see them anytime you have 3 spare days!

Japan was great. When we arrived at our hotel in Tokyo, we opened the curtains and could actually see Mt Fuji from our room, and the weather was perfect for our trip to Mt Fuji. We spoke to someone in Oz who had been to Japan 6 times and not managed to see Mt Fuji because of the weather. Kyoto was lovely, it was like stepping into Memoirs of a Geisha.

We loved Australia, the campervan was fun.

Fiji was absolutely fab. Thank you so much for pushing us to go to Matamanoa, it was just so special. We loved every minute and were sorry we didn’t have another couple of nights. The staff were wonderful and we would certainly encourage people to have a beachfront bure, despite the additional cost. It was absolutely wonderful.

The tour we booked in New Zealand turned out to be fantastic. What a beautiful country.

South America was spectacular - don’t know where to start. We just loved it all, there were so many contrasts.

We met some great people on the way on our various tours and the good news is we are still remaining married to the same people we’ve been married to for 35 years and are still all great friends.

Well here we are back in England after our three month long world trip. We just wanted you to know that we had the most amazing time. All the arrangements went according to plan, the months of planning and preparation certainly paid off.

We enjoyed every day of the trip but we just wanted give a special mention to some of the highlights, which we were blown away by.

The 3 day Uluru, Olgas and Kings Canyon Tour in the tented accommodation was absolutely spectacular and made all the more memorable by our guide, Nick who did a brilliant job and he was tireless in his efforts to make our tour fantastic.

Our stay on Matamanoa Island was as you so rightly predicted, a true Fijian experience. We can’t sing its praises enough and its an experience not to be missed. It was truly paradise and a wonderful relaxing time in the middle of our trip.

Tucan Travel, Amazon and Incas tour - although arriving in Lima was a culture shock, we were soon loving this beautiful city. The added trip to the jungle was one of the highlights of our whole three months as was seeing Machu Picchu. We felt privileged to have been there. We must also praise our local guides both in the jungle and Machu Picchu, they were likeable, knowledgeable and very considerate young men making our tour unforgettable.

So, Jackie, thank you very much for all your hard work. Everyone has been asking us which agent organised our trip so we have been recommending Travel Nation all the time.

Many, many, thanks to you and your team for arranging our Round the World Ticket. We got back on Sunday rather exhausted but we have had a life-changing experience over the last 6 weeks. Brilliant.

No problems with the travel arrangements and flights and the accommodation that you booked for us was very good - especially the Bel Aire Princess in Bangkok - which gave us a standard of luxury that we are not used to when traveling and at a very good price!

Low point - Tahiti. Beautiful Island but the most expensive place that I have ever been (it makes Scandinavia look positively cheap). I don’t mind spending a bit of cash but it was poor value-for-money for what you got - eg. Best price I could get for 2 cups of (Nescafe) coffee was over 5GBP and best (tatty) internet cafe price was 5GBP for 30mins.

High point - Easter Island. Without question our favourite place. We hired bicycles for the day and set off seraching for ’Moai’. We found our first around 4 miles out of town and it was wonderful to be on a remote corner of a remote island just with the sea the rocks and the Moai. Thanks once again and I am already praising ’Travel Nation’ to friends and family! All the best.

Just a brief note to thank you for the itnerary and ticket organisation for our world tour which we completed this a.m with our return from Hong Kong. Everything went like clockwork and we have had the most wonderful 10 weeks exploring so many places, catching up with old friends, making new ones and capturing so many fantastic experiences. Having been back from our RTW trip for just over a month, I thought it was time for me to send you a note about how it all went…well, it was truly fantastic, and I can hardly believe we’ve been to so many amazing places. When friends and family ask us what the best bit was, none of us can answer properly because there was just so many "best" bits…to list just a few: seeing the temples at Angkor Wat, walking on the Great Wall of China, going to a cookery school amongst the beautiful limestone peaks at Yangshuo, cuddling koalas in Queensland, standing in awe at Macchu Picchu, and swimming with sea lions in the Galapagos Islands. If I could, I’d still be out there !

The other reason for this note is to say a big thank you for all your advice, help and hard work in arranging all of this for us – all the flights, hotels, tours etc. went perfectly to plan. The family tours you booked for us were excellent – definitely the best way for us to have done this type of trip. What more can I say but thank you!

Travel Nation organised my family’s round the world trip, and from start to finish they provided a fantastic service. They provided great advice while we were planning the trip, suggesting alternative stopovers, places to stay, and original ideas for our itinery (such as hiring a campervan in New Zealand instead of a car - brilliant idea, which we would never have thought of ourselves). Most importantly, their attention to detail was meticulous, and the trip went ahead exactly according to plan. After ten flights, more than a dozen hotel bookings, many car (or campervan) hires, and several side trips, we were delighted that everything had gone smoothly and without any hitches. We even received an email from TravelNation the day we returned to welcome us home! The whole experience was positive, and we will definitely book our future long-haul travel with them.

Around 3 weeks ago I decided to go away with my girlfriend for a year trip to see the wonders of the World. Obviously this meant requiring around the world flights of some kind, and you know how many operators there are! My first point is that after searching many options & talking to all sorts of operators your company provided the best information & quotes. This brings me straight to why I’m writing. Basically the service I have received from my consultant at Travel Nation has been outstanding. It has taken us around 3 weeks to actually book our tickets (we have properties to sort out) during which you have not only been patient but has made suggestions throughout the past few weeks which have improved our journey (costing around £2,300). None of the the other operators went to this extent to find what we wanted – you were the only ones who went the ’extra mile’.
