PERU EXPERIENCE 4 weeks from £1299 per person.

A very special experience combining Volunteer work with Spanish classes and tours to the highlights of Peru – the perfect mix!

The ancient Inca capital, Cusco, will be your base for most of the month. A lively city, surrounded by stunning Inca ruins, Cusco offers a great mix of modern, colonial and mysterious Inca culture. You’ll also be spending time off the beaten track – visiting lesser known Inca sites as well as the awesome Machu Picchu – and getting to grips with the language in intensive Spanish lessons. And give something back and make a difference to the lives of deprived children by working with them on one of the projects we support.

Your final week is on and around the highest navigable lake in the world – Titicaca – and you’ll be spending time with local communities who live on the lake’s islands.

Trip highlights
• Four weeks in Cusco – just about as far away from modern life in the UK as you can get.
• Learn about Inca & Latin American culture with Spanish classes, Salsa dancing and haggling in local markets
• Take in the major attractions of Machu Picchu and Lake Titicaca.
• Volunteer with disadvantaged children.
• Spend time with indigenous islanders in the communities of Lake Titicaca.

Community work with orphans and underprivileged children in Lima, Peru 4 weeks from £799 per person

An opportunity to volunteer at one of 4 homes which work with around 270 abandoned or orphaned children. The children range in age from 5 to 18 and all receive shelter, food, education, health care and plenty of much needed attention. You’ll join a friendly team of psychologists, teachers, doctors and nurses to teach English, art, cooking and sport amongst other things.

Each of the projects needs help in different areas, but the main reason they love volunteers is because the children have the benefit of interacting with native English speakers from an early age, which increases their chances of gaining better employment as they grow older.

You need to be compassionate, affectionate, patient and you should definitely enjoy working with children! You’ll be informed of which project you are working with on arrival, but let us know if you'd prefer to find out before you arrive.

Trip highlights
• Making a positive impact on the lives of these disadvantaged children
• Living with and learning from your homestay family
• Taking a bike tour through the city - a great and different way to spend some of your free time
