Los Angeles, the undisputed entertainment capital of the world,
offers a seemingly endless array of sightseeing opportunities, from
Universal Studios Hollywood ® with its imaginative display
of movie making and entertain-ment to the glamour and exclusive
shops of Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills and back to the fantasy world
of Disneyland and the brand new California Adventure. Los Angeles is
a sprawling city and you are advised to choose your hotel depending
on the sightseeing you wish to do.
Anaheim, the Disneyland Suburb of Los Angeles with
the whole area designed for fun and excitement, is set approximately
37 miles south east of Los Angeles International Airport. Alternatively,
for those looking for a coastal base, the oasis of Marina Del Rey, the
worlds largest man-made yacht harbour, is only 10 minutes from
the airport and within walking distance of Venice Beach which boasts
numerous waterfront shops, restaurants and bars.
The popular beach resort of Santa Monica sits slightly further
up the coast, offering a wide selection of fashionable shops, restaurants,
bars, beach and pier activities. Exploring on foot is virtually unheard
of except at oceanside locations, therefore to enable you to best experience
the greater part of Los Angeles, car hire or day tours are recommended.
